2. Authentication
MindWell uses Google (Gmail) authentication via Firebase for limited features only, such as:
- Community participation
- Abuse and spam prevention
- Platform safety moderation
Authentication is not required to access core educational features.
Personal identifiers such as name, email address, or profile photo are never publicly displayed or shared.
3. Data Collection and Storage
a. Local (Client-Side) Data
Whenever possible, user-generated data such as:- Mood tracking
- Journaling
- Self-assessment results
is stored locally on the user’s device using browser storage (e.g., IndexedDB).
b. Firebase Storage
For features that require moderation or shared interaction:- Community posts and safety-related metadata may be stored in Firebase Firestore
- This data is used only to operate the platform safely
MindWell does not sell, rent, or monetize user data.
4. Use of Data
Any data processed by MindWell is used solely for:
- Providing educational and wellbeing-related features
- Preventing misuse, abuse, or spam
- Maintaining a safe community environment
MindWell does not use data for:
- Advertising
- Behavioral tracking
- Profiling
- Marketing analytics
5. Third-Party Services
MindWell uses Firebase services strictly for:
- Authentication
- Limited data storage required for safety and moderation
No third-party services are used for advertising or user tracking.
6. Privacy and Anonymity
- No public user profiles are shown
- No real names or emails are visible to other users
- No cookies or advertising trackers are used
- Anonymous usage is supported for core features
